It was a weekend full of baby cakes at Sugarbird! Which meant we got to have fun with pretty pastels and cute little decorations :)
First up was a Christening cake. The cake of choice was our most popular flavour, red velvet with cream cheese icing. For this cake with went with a 2-tiered damask style stenciled cake and were so happy with the way it turned out! We went with pretty pinks for the colours and finished it off with a message for the baby girl :)
Next up was a baby shower cake! We had lots of fun with this cake making it twinkle and shine like the night sky :). Again we started with our red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. Then we covered it in sky blue fondant and added on some pretty stars and soft fluffy clouds. Next up was a tiny fondant baby, fast asleep under a cozy blue baby quilt. To finish off the cake, we made the stars glitter and sparkle! We loved the finished product and hope the soon-to-be-mommy loved it as well :)
Finally, because we didn't get the blog updated last weekend, here are our previous two projects :). First up was a gorgeous and elegant purple bridal shower cake, complete with edible lace and beautiful ivory flowers.
And last but not least, a super bright and cheerful 60th birthday cake. We went with a present shape with edible ribbon and chose fun summery colours for the birthday girl :).
